A beautiful weekend to race! The Mansfield course was dynamic and challenging. Superfly racing has been working hard to create courses that match with the start time abilities of riders and it is so awesome that their ultimate goal is to challenge riders, but still keep the fun mountain bike atmosphere!
Here is a quick race report from Kerry Gale:
"The 10:00am start time was much appreciated today as the temperature continued to rise for the later races, making a tough course even tougher!
We were a small field of women, but a tight field of competition. My main goal of the season this year has been to race my way back into fitness after the birth of Cole and to continue to improve on my results each race.
As the race started we were all together going up the first climb, with one rider pulling out a bit of a gap. We stuck together most of the race and I was so excited to be in touch with the group. In the last 1km of the course there was a tough, short, steep, sandy uphill. I had to put a foot down on the hill as the rider in front of me did the same, but a slightly slower click back into the pedals meant I was chasing until the finish, which was primarily all down hill, making it all the more challenging. I am very pleased with my result and being only 4 seconds from a podium placing is not bad for the second race of the season! "
